CMA Awards 2018: Keith Urban, Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood Among The Winners

The 2018 CMA Awards aired live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville Wednesday night, hosted for the 11th year by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.  The evening opened with Garth Brooks dedicating the show to the 12 victims of the shootings in Thousand Oaks, California.

Keith Urban was the big winner at the 52nd annual CMA Awards, beating out fellow artists Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Chris Stapleton and Kenny Chesney for the “Entertainer of the Year” award.  In his emotional speech, he thanked his wife Nicole Kidman and their daughters Faith and Sunday, as well as his late father, who died of in 2015. Other country superstars, such as Chris Stapleton and Carrie Underwood, also won big. Stapleton had a big night, winning Single and Song of the Year, along with his fourth Male Vocalist award. Carrie Underwood won for Female Vocalist of the Year, which is her fifth win in that category. Other winners included Kacey Musgraves, who took home her first Album of the Year Award for “Golden Hour,” and Brothers Osborne earned their third Vocal Duo of the Year award.
