Texas rejects Sons of Confederate Veterans specialty plate

(Austin, TX) — Texas is rejecting a request for a specialty plate by Sons of Confederate Veterans.

The Department of Motor Vehicles Board turned down the design today saying it was too similar to the “God Bless Texas” plate by BikeTexas.org.  Sons of Confederate Veterans wanted the plate to feature a Confederate soldier carrying a Texas regiment flag on the left side.  The state previously rejected the Sons of Confederate Veterans in 2011.
