92.1 Hank FM and our partners Tarrant County 9-1-1– and iKids Pediatric Dentistry and Orthopedics are proud to be a part of the 14th Annual Tarrant County Back to School Roundup presented by Walmart is scheduled for Thursday, August 9 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth. The Roundup is an impressive collaborative effort between Tarrant County, the county’s 20 school districts, the City of Fort Worth, public health department, state agencies, non-profit organizations, corporations and volunteers.
Here’s What’s Planned:
• Back to School Roundup will provide free school supplies to approximately 10,000 economically disadvantaged students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Backpacks will be provided for PreK through 5th grade students
• Free dental screenings, fluoride applications, free toothbrushes and toothpaste for students
• Free immunizations and sports physicals for schoolchildren
• Free BMI, glucose and kidney health screenings for schoolchildren and their families
• Free haircuts and uniforms will be provided to schoolchildren
• A family friendly event, the Roundup will feature musical entertainment, kids activities, games, and interactive demonstrations and booths
• Community resource booths at the Roundup will offer information on such topics as literacy, parenting, nutrition, financial literacy, health and social services
Who qualifies to receive free school supplies at the roundup?
Recipients of free school supplies must be public school children from the ages of 3 – 18 who reside in Tarrant County, and whose families meet the 2018 Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. Families must pre-register to attend event either through mail or at one of the BTSRU pre-registration events held at various locations in Tarrant County in July/August 2018.
