(White Settlement, TX)  —  The Texas Rangers are investigating after a White Settlement police officer shot and wounded a driver on Tuesday afternoon.

A city marshal pulled the man over for running a stop sign, the driver then led officers on a 15-minute low-speed chase while pointing a gun at his head.  He stopped at a home on Meadow Park Drive where he reportedly used to live.  When he refused to drop the gun, an officer shot him.

The officer reportedly administered CPR until paramedics arrived.  The suspect is in the hospital with serious wounds.  White Settlement police say the man had several outstanding warrants.

Police allowed a woman at the house to drive away in the man’s pickup truck.
