(FORT WORTH, TX)  —  A Cleburne mom is in trouble, accused of trying to starve her 13 year old son.

Opening statements began yesterday in the trial of Danita Tutt.  Prosecutors say Tutt lied to Doctors, about her son Colby being sick, withheld food from the boy resulting in his suffering and unnecessary medical procedures.  They believe Tutt was slowly trying to kill her son for sympathy.  Hospices nurses reportedly realized what was going on and alerted authorities.  She was arrested by Fort Wort Police in August of 2016.  Tutt’s defense attorney said the abuse allegations only came after the mother decided to fire the hospice company and move her son to another facility.

Danita Tutt is charged with attempted murder and three counts of injury to a child.
