(Fort Worth, TX) — A Fort Worth Police sergeant who was fired for ordering another officer to taser a woman is back on the force.

Sergeant Kenneth Pierce was rehired yesterday.  Pierce was fired in December of 2017, four months after he ordered a rookie officer to tase a woman who’d called police for a domestic violence attack.  Chief Joel Fitzgerald fired Pierce for excessive use of force.  He appealed his termination and following a hearing held Wednesday he was reinstated.

Pierce is a 22-year veteran of the Fort Worth Police Department.
