(Dallas, TX)  —  American Airlines is sending tons of supplies to The Bahamas to help with relief efforts following Hurricane Dorian.

A jet loaded with 14-thousand pounds of supplies took off from Miami International Airport on Thursday and headed for Nassau.  The payload included tarps, ropes, batteries and non-perishable foods intended for more than 30 American Airlines employees who live in the Bahamas.

Airline officials say they want to continue delivering supplies to their employees, most of whom they’ve heard from.
