(Stephenville, Tx) – Texas Ag Commissioner Sid Miller is coming under fire for a social media post he made over the weekend involving the Veteran’s Day parade in his hometown of Stephenville.

Miller’s comment was a reaction to learning The Sons of Confederate Veterans were told they could not fly Confederate Flags if they wanted to participate in Saturday’s parade because it would be inappropriate, so the group chose instead to leave.  The Texas Tribune reports that when Miller read about it, he posted on Facebook, “Who told them to leave?…Get a rope.”  Within a few hours, other Facebook users went after Miller for the remark, so he responded with “Good grief people, it’s a joke,” saying it was a reference to a Pace salsa commercial.

Miller’s spokesman, Todd Smith, said he didn’t know anything about Saturday’s comment.
