(Mineral Wells, Tx) – Palo Pinto County is now the eighth county in Texas to declare itself a “Second Amendment Sanctuary County” in an effort they say will protect citizens’ legal rights to keep and bear arms.

The Mineral Wells Index reports no one came forward at this week’s County Commissioner’s meeting to speak for or against the resolution, despite a lot talk on social media.  Palo Pinto County Sheriff Brett McGuire used his social media to announce his support of the Second Amendment and the county resolution.  Commissioners passed the resolution unanimously.

Palo Pinto joins Parker and Hood counties, to declare their citizens safe from any actions to unconstitutionally confiscate their firearms.
