(Stephenville, Tx) – A Stephenville business got cited for failing to shut down during the Coronavirus health crisis.

Stephenville Police issued a citation to the Lux Nail Spa of N. Barker Avenue, for failing to comply with the city’s COVID-19 disaster declaration.  The Department put out a press release stating “We will continue to enforce the emergency declaration… adding that “Officers and city employees are visiting businesses to ensure compliance. For example, businesses that are ordered to be closed such as nail salons, tattoo parlors and hair salons are required to comply with the state, county and city declarations.”

The penalty for a person or business violating the order can include a fine ranging from $50 to $1,000 or up to 180 days in jail. The city can also revoke a business’ Certificate of Occupancy for committing a second violation.
