(Fort Worth, TX) —  A lost dog is back home with his Fort Worth family more than five years after he went missing.

A woman took Duncan, a Schnauzer mix, to the Humane Society of North Texas on Monday to be cared for after another dog attacked and injured him.  A vet at the shelter scanned Duncan’s microchip and found his owner, Maria Galindo.  She says Duncan ran off in 2014 after she’d had him for about six-months.

Galindo and her family went to the shelter on Tuesday with proof of ownership, and Duncan is now home again.
