Two Sisters From Alvarado Killed In One-Car Accident

(Cleburne, TX) — Johnson County officials have identified two 17-year-old sisters, killed in a one-car crash on Sunday afternoon North of Alvarado.

State troopers responded to the accident about 12:30 p.m. on County Road 604 near Happy Trail Road, where the car hit the railing of a bridge and became impaled.  The two teens were pronounced dead at the scene.  They’re identified as Alvarado High School students Hayley and Hannah Underwood, sisters who were just 9 months apart.

The driver, their mother, 39-year-old Barbara Underwood is hospitalized with serious injuries.  The crash is under investigation.  Hannah was set to graduate next week.
