(Fort Worth, TX)  —  American Airlines will start notifying passengers of crowded flights.

CEO Doug Parker told investors on Wednesday that the carrier’s customers will be told about packed planes around 24 hours before a flight takes off.  Customers will then be allowed to switch to a plane with fewer passengers.  Parker says it’s about making sure people are comfortable flying the Fort Worth-based airline during the coronavirus pandemic.

The airline industry has been hit hard by the pandemic.
