(Fort Worth, TX) — A new report says the statewide mask mandate is having a positive effect on slowing the spread of the pandemic in North Texas.
Dr. Rajesh Nandy, who teaches epidemiology and biostatistics at UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth, plans to release the report today. Dr. Nandy says hospitalization figures and the rate of the virus’s spread are still high in North Texas, but are showing signs of flattening.
It’s been nearly two-weeks since Gov. Greg Abbott issued the mask requirement, and Nandy says it’s starting to work.
