Tarrant County Health Officials Warn Of West Nile Virus Outbreak

(Fort Worth, TX) — Tarrant County health officials say an alarming number of mosquitos are testing positive for the West Nile virus.

Forty-percent of the county’s mosquito samples are testing positive, and in some parts of the county, it’s as high as 60%.  Health department director Dr. Vinny Taneja says these are record numbers never seen before in Tarrant County.

Two county residents have been diagnosed with West Nile, and one of them has died.
