(Tyler Co., TX) — Netflix is facing criminal charges in regards to its controversial film “Cuties.”
A grand jury in Texas indicted Netflix on Tuesday claiming the film shows “lewd” material involving children. It goes on to claim the movie has no “literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.” Netflix disagrees, saying it is a “social commentary against the sexualization of young children.” Netflix also says the charge is without merit and it will stand by the film.
The streaming company faced backlash online in August after the movie’s poster came out with young girls in revealing dance outfits.
