(Austin, TX) – Some Texas bars will be allowed to reopen beginning on October 14th, pending approval from each county’s respective judge.

Wednesday Governor Greg Abbott announced the reopening plan, which bars may only operate at 50% capacity and customers must remain seated while eating and drinking. The expansions apply only to certain regions where coronavirus hospitalizations are less than 15% of hospital capacity.

Abbott shut bars down in late June citing the coronavirus pandemic.
