(Stephenville, Tx) – Early voting for the 2020 General Election begins today, Tuesday, Oct. 13.

In Stephenville, residents are being asked to approve a sports venue tax attached to hotel stays.  The city wants to collect an extra 2% tax per night on hotel rooms within the city limits.  The revenue generated would be used for new construction and upgrades to city owned sports recreation facilities like ballparks and courts.

According to the City of Stephenville Facebook page, tourism generated approximately $1.1 million in local tax revenue in 2018.
