(Fort Worth, TX) — Bar code problems are causing major issues with Tarrant County mail-in ballots.

Election Administrator Heider Garcia told County Commissioners Tuesday a print shop made the error with the bar codes, meaning they won’t work with scanners.  Staff will have to copy the ballots, then scan them again.  Garcia says it’s not an unusual problem because ballot bar codes end up being damaged all the time.

He is confident all votes will be counted and noted the people who copy the ballots will be from different parties and work in pairs.
