(Fort Worth, TX)  —  A former Fort Worth police officer accused of the murder of Atatiana Jefferson will tentatively stand trial next August.

Former officer Aaron Dean was one of the officers who responded to Jefferson’s home just over a year ago after a neighbor reported that her door was standing open late at night.  Dean reportedly shot through a window and killed Jefferson as she played games with her nephew.

Dean resigned after he was charged with murder.  The judge who set the trial date is also considering a motion for a change of venue.
