(Austin, TX) — Republicans are retaining all of the targeted congressional seats in Texas, with one North Texas race still too close to call.
Backed by money and organizational support from the national party, Texas Democrats aimed to flip several seats in the state. But GOP incumbents won by wider margins in many of the races this year than in 2018. Republicans also scored a couple of hotly contested open seats.
In the race for the open seat in District 24, Republican Beth Van Duyne is leading Democrat Candace Valenzuela by a narrow margin.
