(Sanger, TX) — A Denton County school district is temporarily closing its middle and high schools because of an increase in coronavirus cases.

Officials with Sanger ISD say the students in both schools will return to virtual learning through the Thanksgiving break.  The district reports eight staff members and 23 students have tested positive at the high school.  Others who may have been exposed are under quarantine.

Superintendent Dr. Tommy Hunter says both campuses had 15- to 18% of their students at home, either infected or quarantining.
