(The Woodlands, TX) — A former player from Baylor’s earlier glory years is especially enjoying the Bears’ triumph in the NCAA national championship game.

Baylor won its first-ever national basketball title over Gonzaga on Monday night, 86-70.  The last time Baylor had made it to an NCAA National Championship was in 1948, and the last time the team made it to the Final Four was in 1950.  Dr. Gerald Cobb, who played for Baylor from 1947 to 1950, was on both teams.

The 92-year-old lives near Houston and stayed up past his bedtime to see the game.
