(Austin, TX) — The governor of Texas claims his state is “very close” to herd immunity.

He told Fox News Sunday simple math is behind the recent drop in coronavirus cases.  CDC numbers show only 19-percent of the state is vaccinated.  Herd immunity occurs when enough people are immune to prevent the virus from easily spreading.

Scientists have said in order for that to happen, 70-to-90% of the nation would need to be protected.
