(Somervell County, TX) — The Comanche Peak nuclear power plant is fully operational following a transformer fire.

The U.S Nuclear Regulatory Commission tells The Dallas Morning News the facility near Glen Rose in Somervell County, was able to turn Unit 2 back on over the weekend.  It’s owned by North Texas-based Vistra Corp., which says it’s still not known what caused the June 7th fire.

The fire and subsequent shutdown of Unit 2 is one of the reasons why ERCOT asked consumers to conserve power last week.
