Tarrant County Considers Cash Incentive For Vaccinations

(Fort Worth, TX) — Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley says he’s once again considering the idea of a cash incentive in exchange for being vaccinated.

The county lately has the highest coronavirus hospitalization rate in North Texas, and most new patients are unvaccinated. Whitley says Harris County provides $100 gift cards to first-dose recipients.

He says the plan has boosted vaccination rates in Houston and Harris County, so the idea is worth a look.
