(Arlington, TX) — Arlington police say the suspect in Wednesday’s shooting at Mansfield Timberview High School is being held in jail on a $75,000 bond.

The suspect, 18-year-old Timothy Simpkins, turned himself in on Wednesday afternoon and is charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.  Investigators say the .45 caliber handgun Simpkins reportedly used was found in Grand Prairie on a street several miles from the Mansfield campus.

All classes, athletic events, and after-school activities at Timberview High School are canceled for today.

Following school holidays on Friday and Monday, classes will resume on Tuesday.  Counseling is being offered to Timberview students today at Mansfield ISD Performing Arts Center and Word of Truth Church in Arlington.
