SWA Cancels More Than 100 Weekend Flights Out Of Love Field

(Dallas, TX) — Southwest Airlines is blaming air traffic control problems and weather for the cancellation of flights nationwide over the weekend.

Hundreds of flights were delayed or canceled, including 139 at Love Field. The Dallas-based carrier reportedly canceled more than 800 flights on Saturday and just over a thousand on Sunday. A week ago, Southwest required all its employees to be vaccinated against coronavirus.

There were rumors on Saturday about an anti-vaccine walkout at the air traffic control center in Jacksonville, Florida.
