(Fort Worth, TX) — A former Boeing pilot is under indictment on charges of deceiving safety regulators about the troubled 737 Max jetliner.

A federal grand jury indicted 49-year-old Mark Forkner, who now lives in Keller.  Forkner is accused of misleading the Federal Aviation Administration about an automated flight-control system for the 737 Max.  The jet was later involved in two crashes that killed 346 people.

Forkner is charged with several counts of fraud.  He’s expected to make his first court appearance today in Fort Worth.

If convicted, he faces up to 100 years in prison.
