Veterans Day Observances Across North Texas

(Undated) —  It is Veterans Day, a day to honor those that have and continue to serve in the U.S. military.

Originally known as Armistice Day, Nov 11th was selected to observe the eleventh day of the eleventh month when World War One hostilities came to an end.  It changed to Veterans Day in 1954.

Today’s traditional observances at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas begin at 11a.

The Tarrant County Veterans Day Parade begins at 11a with the parade starting at Panther Island Pavilion going on along the Trinity River on Forest Park Blvd this year, instead of the traditional downtown route.

North Richland Hills will hold a traditional 11th hour ceremony outside the North Richland Hills City Hall with the NRH Police and Fire Honor Guard presenting colors and patriotic music.

The Grapevine parade gets underway at 10a on Main Street.

In Arlington, the City’s 14th annual Veterans Day Commemorative Ceremony gets underway at 11a at Veterans Park. ​

American Legion Post 75 and the Mineral Wells ISD will team up for Veterans Day ceremonies beginning at 10:30a at Ram Stadium.

The North Texas Vet Fest takes place today through Sunday in Granbury.  It gets started with a Veterans Day Ceremony at the Granbury High School auditorium beginning at 9:30a.  The parade takes place Saturday at 10a.

Veterans in Weatherford will be celebrated on Saturday the 13th with a ceremony at 9:30a followed by a Main Street parade at 10.

The City of Burleson hosts the twelfth annual Military Veteran Tribute at Veterans Memorial Park at Renfro Square Saturday 13th at 2p.
