Texas Republicans Want To Investigate GoFundMe For "Freedom Convoy"

(Undated) — Some Texas politicians want to investigate GoFundMe after it shut down fundraising for Canadian truckers protesting COVID-19 restrictions.

Senator Ted Cruz is one of them. The Texas Republican accused the Canadian government of trying to suppress peaceful protest, an abuse of power he says is compounded by GoFundMe not giving ten-million-dollars raised for the truckers in the “Freedom Convoy.” The truckers have snarled the center of Ottawa and other areas across the nation.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is also on board with probing GoFundMe’s practices.
