(Parker County, Tx) – Recent grass fires and a severe lack of rain have prompted two North Texas Counties to implement burn bans.

Officials in both Parker and Palo Pinto counties have issued the burn bans until we get a significant amount of rainfall.  During an emergency session Tuesday, Palo Pinto County commissioners reinstated a 90 day burn ban.  Parker County’s ban is in place until Feb. 25th.

According to the Weatherford Democrat, flames from an unattended firepit at a Willow Park construction site Tuesday, threatened homes along Willow Crest before Willow Park Fire-Rescue and supporting departments contained it.  The fire had spread to two neighboring yards before it was put out.

No homes were damaged.
