(Azle, Tx) – An advancing grass fire in Northeastern Parker County led to some evacuations near rural homes Monday afternoon.

The Fire Marshal’s office says multiple crews fought the blaze that sprang up near Ashwood Street and Highway 199 west of Azle.  Parker County Deputies helped evacuate homes that were being threatened until firefighters were able to contain it.  No injuries were reported; however, some empty structures were lost to the fire.

Investigators are trying to determine what started the grassfire.  Parker County remains under a burn ban.
