Memorial Day Drowning On Grapevine Lake

(Grapevine, TX) — Officials are reporting the recovery of a drowning victim’s body from Grapevine Lake on Monday night.

A Grapevine Fire Department lake rescue team responded around 6:30 p.m. to reports of a swimmer who jumped off the rocks near Katie’s Woods Park and didn’t resurface. An hour later, divers recovered the body of an Irving man, 33 year old Israel Rivas Asencio, in about six feet of water.

The Texas Game Warden will investigate the drowning.
