98-Year-Old North Texas WW2 Vet Graduates High School

(Sadler, TX) — A 98-year-old World War Two vet from North Texas is finally a high school graduate.

Weldon McClane was 16-years-old when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. He dropped out of school to join the Navy but was turned away because of his age. McClane was later drafted into the Army and was wounded during the Normandy landings on D-Day. He rejoined his unit after he recovered, but he only recently got around to finishing high school.

He’s by far the oldest member of Sadler-Southmayd High School’s Class of 2022.
