More Than 40 Illegal Immigrants Found Dead In Trailer

(San Antonio, TX) — San Antonio officials are reporting the discovery of 46 dead bodies inside an 18-wheeler near Lackland Air Force Base.

A nearby worker heard cries for help from inside the trailer. First responders took 16 survivors to local hospitals. The Border Patrol and Homeland Security joined police and ambulances at the scene.

Officials believe the people are illegal immigrants victimized by human smugglers and were injured and killed by asphyxiation, heat stroke, and lack of water.
