Fort Worth Considers Property Tax Rate Reduction

(Fort Worth, TX) — Fort Worth’s proposed city budget features a two-cent cut in the property tax rate.

Homeowners will still pay more in property taxes because property values are so high and getting higher. The city manager’s proposed budget for fiscal 2023 tops two-billion-dollars, and includes 300 new city jobs for police, the fire department, a new library, and other areas.

Funds are also earmarked for cleaning up junk, overgrown lots, and dirty streets, which officials say are contributing factors to crime.
