(Hood County, Tx) – Evening thunderstorms caused extensive damage and power outages in the Hood County town of Tolar.

The storm moved into the area about 6pm Wednesday.  Video and pictures on social media show downed power lines and trees.  The Hood County Sheriff’s Office reported deputies had gone out on several calls about damage to structures, blown out windows and large tree limbs laying in the streets, including Highway 377, which had to be shut down for a while.

Just after 9pm, Tolar Volunteer Fire Department posted on Facebook that “Texas-New Mexico Electric: No estimate on when power will be restored. It could be out until tomorrow.  Water Info: Please conserve water as no pumps are running We could run out of water if the power is off for an extended period.”
