Today we’re highlighting one of our longest residents for Pet of the Week! Meet Emmitt, our belly rub lovebug! This 6-year-old boy has been a resident of HSNT for just over a year and want nothing more than to find him a loving home. Emmitt is a sweetheart whose sole goal is to be with people. He loves to play and have fun, then snuggle up for chill time and a belly rub. Emmitt is friendly, active, and a heart-stealer. As soon as you visit with him, he will most likely win your heart over. He loves to go out on walks, playing in the backyard, and playing with his stuffed toys. He walks well on the leash, but can pull if he sees a squirrel — which, can we blame him? SQUIRREL! He’s done well with kids, but still needs to be reminded of his manners with jumping up on people. He can be reactive with other dogs, so a meet-and-greet is required if you do have another dog in the home just to make sure everyone gets along prior to adoption. Emmitt is housetrained, so brownie points for that! He is neutered, current on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm tested negative.
To make it even more tempting to make this week Emmitt’s last week at HSNT, through May 31, all dogs over 30lbs and over 6 months old (excluding Hurst) will be free to adopt! Come meet him today at our Saxe-Forte Adoption Center.
