
The 79th Fort Worth Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony drew a huge crowd to Sundance Square Plaza on Tuesday night (Dec. 2nd). Mayor Mattie Parker did a 10 second countdown before the switch was flipped and the 86 foot Norway Spruce tree was illuminated. NBC 5 Morning Anchor Deborah Ferguson emceed the event and noted that this was the tallest live tree in Texas.
Following the tree lighting, Mayor Parker introduced Clint Black who was joined by his wife Lisa and their daughter Lily Pearl Black. Clint and his family performed three Christmas songs closing with “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” as the crowd sang along.
