Waffle House To Close Over 300 Locations During Coronavirus Pandemic

(Norcross, GA) — Waffle House is closing 365 restaurants across the U.S. because of the coronavirus.

The popular chain says over 16-hundred locations will remain open. Waffle House made the announcement on Twitter and showed a map of the locations being closed. The restaurant chain rarely closes under any circumstances, leading to what is known the Waffle House Index, which is an unofficial emergency system used to measure the severity of a storm.

The temporary closures affect 21 locations in Texas, including the Weatherford and Burleson restaurants.
