(Aledo, Tx) – Aledo ISD officials are calling on their students and parents to practice better health protocols after seeing a bump in COVID-19 cases at the high school.

At a special school board meeting this week, AISD Superintendent Dr. Susan Bohn said “We are seeing a lot of exposure coming from off-campus events, including Halloween, and just the contact teenagers are having outside of campus without masks”.  According to the district’s COVID-19 dashboard, there are currently 12 confirmed positive student cases at Aledo High School and 122 students in quarantine.

This led the district on Thursday afternoon, to put out a tweet saying “We are aware of rumors that Aledo ISD is closing tomorrow and going to all remote learning, and these rumors are untrue.”  This week’s Bearcat football games were canceled but the district says they will be rescheduled.
