Cowboys LB Jersey Swap

(Frisco, TX) — The Cowboys are swapping more jersey numbers with linebacker Jaylon Smith, trading number-54 for number-nine.

The last Dallas player to don the number was former quarterback Tony Romo. Dallas doesn’t retire jersey numbers, but Troy Aikman’s number-8, Roger Staubach’s number-12, and Emmitt Smith’s number-22 have been untouched for years.

Smith made the jersey swap official on social media, and under the rule, the Cowboys linebacker is required to buy out the remaining inventory.
