(Houston, TX) — A new study reveals Houston residents spend more on their partners for Valentine’s Day than anywhere else in the country.
According to new research by retail data company Emarsys that looked at the habits of consumers over the past two years, the average American spends just over $65 on Valentine’s Day gifts. The average person in Houston spends more than $100, which even beat out big names like Los Angeles and New York.
Texas was also home to one of the cities where people spend the least amount of money on their partners for the holiday. San Antonio ranked second behind San Jose, CA, where the average person spends just under $37 on their partner.
