Abbott Issues Disaster Declaration For Uvalde

(Uvalde, TX) — A state of disaster is now in effect for Uvalde, by order of Governor Greg Abbott.

The Governor made the announcement on Tuesday, a week after the deadly shooting at Robb Elementary School. The declaration will cut through red tape to speed all available state and local resources to help Uvalde residents.

Abbott says the Texas Division of Emergency Management and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission will make mental health services and other resources available to the community.
