The Grand Champion Steer was crowned Friday at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Junior Steer Show at Will Rogers Coliseum. This year’s winner is Caiman Cody, a 13 year old from Tolar. Caiman and his steer White Castle, a European crossbreed, won the title over 1,500 other competitors. Cody is a member of the Tolar FFA and has been showing steers for four years. White Castle, named after the popular restaurant, weighs over 1,000 pounds.
White Castle will now be up for auction at Saturday’s Jr. Sale of Champions beginning at 9am inside Watt Arena. Approximately 300 other animals will join them at the auction which is expected to raise more than $10 million.
