(Fort Worth, TX)  —  The Fort Worth Police Officers Association is taking to social media to object to proposed cuts in retiree benefits for first responders.

City leaders may reduce the cost of living increases for retired firefighters, police officers, and city workers.  The police union posted a video on Monday asking citizens to call their council members and tell them not to vote for the cuts.

The long-term obligations of the city’s pension fund are underfunded by nearly two-billion-dollars.  Unless changes are made, it will be depleted in 25 years.
