(Austin, TX)  —  Allen West is ending his tenure as the head of the Texas Republican Party.

He stepped down as chairman today after just 11 months.  West didn’t give a reason for his decision only saying he was humbled by the opportunity to serve.

It’s rumored West might mount a primary challenge against Texas Governor Greg Abbott next year.
