Cruz Ranks Well In Straw Poll Of Conservative Voters

(Lakewood, CO) — A straw poll says Texas Senator Ted Cruz is among the top five potential candidates for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

The survey at the Western Conservative Summit has Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the lead with 74% of the vote, compared to 71% for former President Donald Trump. Cruz came in third at 43%, followed by former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at 39% and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott at 36%.

The top issues cited by poll participants were immigration, election integrity, religious freedom, the federal budget, and gun rights.
