Judge Removed From Trial Of Ex-Cop Accused Of Killing Woman

(Fort Worth, TX) — There will be a new judge overseeing the trial of an ex-Fort Worth cop accused of killing a Black woman in her own home.

Tarrant County District Judge David Hagerman was removed from Aaron Dean’s trial Tuesday. Dean’s attorneys successfully argued Hagerman was combative towards them, refusing to accommodate planned vacations and other cases.

Dean is the former Fort Worth police officer charged with murder after Atatiana Jefferson was shot to death in 2019.

Officers were originally called to Jefferson’s home after a neighbor noticed the door was open.
